    Did you get dusty yet

Some Bob came up on shuffle earlier and I had to skip it. I'm not yet ready to jump into the 60s again with the stuff I've been listening to lately.

It’s between Sufjan and Sampha for me for AOTY

Never really listened to Sampha outside Pablo and The Motion which a couple of Kanye and Drake's best songs what's it like

Explains why you were willing to dive into Drukqs and Red Velvet

was wondering if that hardcore wide-sweeping chrono would take its toll on you

Probably. I've heard more than half of what's on your 66 playlist.

It's nice to switch it up from 1970

Have you heard Third by Portishead? Best album I heard this week I think. First two albums so mellow compared to how industrial this one is.

It did for sure but I finished the first few years of the 60s so long ago that I can just enjoy them fresh now

Alt r&b that is piano driven but with jazz, electronic, and guitar elements

Not sound wise like Frank but he channels a lot of the kind of emotional power that you might hear in a Frank song

    Nothing like that afaicr

Like I said first two were very mellow but I had to keep checking my phone to see it didn't change artists on me cause the variety and energy on third is so crazy. Doesnt seem super trip hoppy to me but im not very into the genre either.

He has some looser songs like Only or Under or Reverse Faults but yeah he’s quite restrained/softer normally

How? Third seems like an industrial album and he's the NIN stan

I cant believe how brutal some of the textures are on there

I don’t get what’s not to like about Portishead’s trip-hop stuff. It’s like the best instrumentation Mobb Deep never used sung over with haunting melodies by one of the most beautiful sounding vocalists ever.

I’ve noticed he likes harder and darker stuff. Third to me veers more into the electronic sounds going on at that time and even has some jazzy flourishes. It’s much “lighter” relatively.

Thoughts so. Saw him at Primavera in 2017 (when f***face frank didn't show up) and it was beautiful but very serene

its the best trip hop ive heard but i still only kinda like it. definitely like Roads and Glory Box though

i like some massive attack songs too but other than that trip hop is in the company of reggae and traditional pop as some of the genres i cant get into yet
