recent S2S changed my opinion on Wild Is The Wind. It really is the emotional peak of the album. The cartharsis that was needed

I thought you already thought that heavy agree even though every song on there is it's own type of opus

Agreed. For me it's a top 5 Bowie song and somehow the best song on his (imo) best album. And I usually don't rate covers that highly.

    ahh yeah I suppose haha.

the poem is called The Second Coming. the first part (through metaphor) describes the moral and spiritual bankrupcy of Europe after the first world war. So Yeats first imagines that salvation is imminent drawing on the second coming of Christ... then (cynically) reveals the second coming to actually be this sphinx motherfucker that wakes up and "slouches towards bethlehem to be born", " which is basically saying something even worse is about to happen (The Second Coming) At least that's how I interpret it. This is the tradition of a lot of modernist poetry from that era.

I really like both versions of all along the watchtower but have never looked into the meanings.

I love that several of you are on the exact same page

I miss arguing with my dad and step mum about this. Boomers couldn't believe that kids these days would rank Station and Low over the glam records. They though the later stuff were big missteps in comparison

Aladdin Sane might be my fav of his Glam albums at this point (if it weren't for half of the tracks using fade outs).

A good fade out is hard when it hits though

true but it's a bit overused on that album imo.

Same he was much more tapped in on Sane than Ziggy or Hunky and the Spiders were on f***in fire by that point. Probably the reason for all the fad-outs.... The band could just keep hammering away at anything
