Thought about it but not quite. The list of not quite is vast.
Jurassic Park?
The Jim Carey classics?

Oh f*** yeah Jim was my icon but that was a bit later. He wasnt there when I was a kid kid.
Badlands is probably the best one to start with when it comes to Malick. I started with Tree Of Life and didn't understand s*** but it looked amazing
I think I might've seen New World first but otherwise same lol

idk I feel like Thin Red Line might be the best place to start. I started with Days of Heaven when was 17. I had no way to articulate it at the time but knew I had just seen one of the greatest films ever.

Aliens especially was my favorite. And True Lies later on. Cameron used have the sauce.

True Lies was too classic. Eraser was good too. I might like ‘90s Arnie more than ‘80s

F*** yeah Eraser felt like the bleeding edge of action movies at the time. 90s Arnie was too good.

Wasn’t the first Mission: Impossible from that same year too? De Palma went crazy with that one

that 2001 rewatch was potent
lowkey was thinking that i might even prefer some aspects as they were portrayed in the book
some of the stargate sequence and final parts, and going to a moon of saturn instead of jupiter (obviously makes sense practicality wise that kubrick couldnt do some crazy ass saturn+moon sequence)
in the book when Bowman sees a derelict space station or something after going through the stargate
and how it describes the food and TV in the room
great complements to each other though anyway
