True. The only difference I think would be that the Stones didn't have an album as mature and fully realized until a bit later in their career.
And the only U2 album I've heard tbh is Joshua Tree (which I actually really love)
U Need to get on Achtung

HAHAHA you read my mind bro i'm actually 3 songs deep into it as I type this.
i remember being early to an improv comedy show and they were showing Godzilla 2014 on the tv at the bar. i watched most of it and it seemed like a pretty movie at least lol
I still dig the use of scale in it
I always thought Man of Steel was such a let down compared to how good the teaser trailer was (the one that used the LOTR soundtrack in it)
Same thing happened with the Godzilla (2014) teaser that used Ligeti's Requiem.
Such a dope trailer and the movie ended up being completely forgettable imo.
What do you mean by Malick though... I must have missed this.
The sort of ethereal disembodied voices echoing in the air while the camera glides across scenery as if it’s trying to capture little moments of beauty in a bottle. That sort of Tree of Life Malick imagery. A lot of people were bringing that comparison up when the teasers first dropped. I can’t really find gifs of the specific scenes that give off these vibes the most for some reason.

Is it getting better?

i trust you bruh it's just that i have the legit memory of an 80 year old so I really just don't remember.
but yah re-watching the teaser I guess there's some visual poetry going on there with the little boy and the butterfly and stuff
Is it getting better?
i fux with it so far. there's a chance I've already listened to this before though tbh.
Does remind me of Joshua Tree a lot too. Like I should be seeing it live in a huge stadium with people waving their phone flashlights in the air.
Godzilla 1998 > Godzilla 2014
yo you seen that Shin Godzilla ? that's the only one that caught my attention. well unless that make a Mothra movie :datass:

I used to think it was a mess because portions of the film felt like different filmmakers but I’ve grown to like it because it’s almost as if different chapters in Clark’s life are visualized best through different styles. The beginning and ending are more Snyder, the middle is more Nolan, and then there’s the bits of Malick sprinkled throughout when looking back on his childhood.
as a huge Hideaki Anno stan, Shin Godzilla is good but people gas it up way too much. He has tackled those same themes so much better through Evangelion.

I’m saying that you out here trying to say not everyone wanna watch anime, when you can go on about not wanting to watch s*** cuz it’s foreign, black and white, silent, artsy, documentary whatever
All that s*** at the end of the day is just a barrier that has nothing to do with the fact that it could be excellently done. And evangelion takes a massive s*** on Shin Godzilla in every single way, doesn’t matter if it’s an anime or not
U2 and the stones were that young starting out too
The list is much bigger than that

All I knew off the top of my head
Gonna provide some more?

Regardless medium always plays a significant factor. You cant just flat out say x is better than y when they're considerably different.

I mean technically you cant say anything is better than the other when it comes to art because theres always someone who will disagree.
But it is definitely possible to compare an anime to a live action film when it comes to things like writing, ideas, direction

Elvis, Peter Green, John Lydon

Yeah I dont fully disagree either. I dont think anything does space western or noir as good as Cowboy Bebop does.
