It's a useless description for everyone reading your criticism. It's similar to "pretentious". Explaining why you think its not engaging is interesting to read, just using the word boring doesn't provide me with any information.

boring doesn't express that though its too vague.
"boring" is an expression of your personal taste and state of mind when listening to the album. its just a synonym for "i dont like it"

Nah Nick Mullen is not an idol of mine lol. I just think he's funny, not sure if I even agree with his politics other than the obvious pro Bernie stuff. Doing a podcast wasn't even my idea, friend of mine came up with it and I got support to go through with it from some twitter personalities. Its one of the last creative mediums you can monetize without sacrificing your principles and its not nearly as time consuming. I was interested in doing video essay but those take like months to edit and then end up being copyright struck.

yeah i agree but i think their 'alternative rock' sound+distinct guitar style combined with that made it a little more unique sounding than just one of those pure revival type bands. also the lack of bass and general rawness gives a bit of different sound for sure
