I disagree that calling something overrated is fishing for a reaction. I've never once had someone go f***ing crazy when I call an album they like overrated. They either say that's fine or they ask why. Simple as that.

If someone asks me about a super popular and acclaimed album that I don't like, there are two things I can say.

1. I think it's overrated.
2. I don't like it.

Both of these would probably provoke an identical reaction yet the first one is lazy????? They both lead to further discussion about the album. GTFO of here with lazy criticism bullshit

Ill tell ya one thing I like bout Jack White is his record label put out that last Sleep record a few other nice releases too.

Not every band needs to create a new genre to be good... And personally I love a good trad revival if that's what you wanna call it. I don't care if you don't like them but they are sure as f*** more than just blues wannabes.

yeah i agree but i think their 'alternative rock' sound+distinct guitar style combined with that made it a little more unique sounding than just one of those pure revival type bands. also the lack of bass and general rawness gives a bit of different sound for sure
