Honestly linear games with open sections are superior in every way. Iâm not tryna do 100 boring ass filler quest and explore your unimaginative, bland worlds

I think the first open world games you play also stand out, but now when every other game is an open world it feels stale as hell. I still loved Oblivion/Skyrim and the PS2 GTAs back in the day cause the concept wasnât so saturated

Those games were good because they encouraged exploration. Thatâs the key to a fun open world. Shareholders in suits who control development donât understand this

Hot take:
I didnât like it
Itâs just another mid Zelda story but this time instead of a tight knit semi linear dungeon puzzle game which I LOVE it is instead an open world with 400 mini puzzle dungeons
Botw was not for me

The quests were mostly pretty unique and the world was littered with all sorts of neat s*** like following birds to find artifacts, following foxes to write a haiku, the wind mechanic. Idk it all felt like they really enjoyed making the game.
Then again the bar might just be low
Now that I think of it youâre right. Though some of them had cool little storylines. But yea the clever mechanics made it enjoyable

yeah but thatâs what cool about open world is that you donât have to do the optional side quests
sounds like youâre mad theyâre giving you options

Youâre right I do hate options. Itâs human nature to tho
Aside from that I just enjoy lively worlds in an open word game. If the world is immersive and fun to explore, that almost makes up for mid quests. Problem is these new games have mid cookie cutter quests AND trash worlds

youâre not wrong, but some games like tsushima and rdr2 personally I found it fun to explore and each quest felt unique
Never really been into this series (played 5 for a couple hours but couldnât really get into it) but Iâm eager to see what this is like.

eh there were 120 total and some of them felt like og dungeons but others ur right were short and just felt like mini puzzles, but a lot of them had quests attached those felt like classic ocarina or windwaker quests to me tbh
also the 4 beasts were like the semi-linear dungeons from the rest of the series
the castle part at the end was f***ing sick too
