Theres just so many more interesting streetwear brands then it was a decade ago,not to mention the rise of online thrifting,but its crazy how fashion just feels so uninteresting now,just a lack of direction on all fronts.
there’s so many things to follow and a lot of these big brands and houses are really trying to capture moments and clicks rather than make something we connect with i feel

Most brands/houses are just re-hashing from the past or creating ridiculous collections to be admired on social media(similar to what you said)not actually worn. The Allesandro-Gucci era was just a huge throwback/homage to 70s/80s high fashion,nothing reall original.
But even in that era,there was still some direction fashion was going in,now everything is out of whack,and you can kinda tell,by the way people are dressing now.

yup you got it. i think it’s cool that people are kind of wearing whatever but fashion is so directionless feels like it’s not actually about fashion anymore

Its cool that there aren't really any trends out there and people aren't discriminating against styles,you can dress the way you want to dress. I'll also say again that,cool clothes are more accessible then ever. You couldn't buy much of anything high end online back then,you had to be "in the know".
But that "in the know" attitude is what fueled the industry for so long and now,since that attitude is dying,some of these designers just really don't care,their saleman just like any other person trying to make money now. Nice clothes will always be "nice clothes" but high fashion really isn't dictating s***,its the consumer/social media.
But then with social media and always online,we see these small trends play out faster cause the world is moving fast af/your always seeing the same s***. So yeah,this fashion s*** a different animal now,just enjoy what you like cause no one has the answers nowadays.
15 years ago any of the actual ‘fashion houses’ wouldn’t have dared release an item of their “logo” on a sweatshirt, if you want to know what’s really changed start looking at the small things.

Yea,they wanted to sell to the lowest common denominator at an unreasonable price,and it worked. Those Gucci Tees/Hoodies,with rappers wearing them,was genius marketing tbh. "Were gonna sell you Gucci without selling you Gucci" basically.
@ghosting
whats up, im ready to chat about fashion

I hate to be the "there's good s*** out there you just need to pay attention" guy but I feel like the non-fashion house scene has found its footing really nicely recently. sneakers have been great recently too
