WESLEY PETTYI might have to agree on KOD. Scorpions got some hot trash on it, but it's also got six to seven amazing songs on it. I can barely remember anything off of KOD aside from once an addict and Kevin's heart

Yeah. As someone who has always loved albums with no filler, I think that mindset has went too far with some people. Like Cole albums definitely have less “fillers” or “misses” than drake albums but drake albums are still better, even if less consistent there’s just more good stuff

I disagree, I listen to all 3 but Drake's music has me more impressed every single time. It's hard to speak on Kendrick because he's on a hiatus but DAMN was a step down from TPAB while Drake and Cole are reaching new heights this far into their career. Cole especially with Off Season.
But comparing Drake vs Cole I'm so engaged in Drake's music I stopped listening to a new Cole album just to hear him on a Nicki Minaj mixtape. Drake's quality is too consistently for any other rapper right now to compete.

If it's another grand slam like his last 3, he definitely gets the #1. If it's an L though, he'll fall under Drake. Drake shoots and misses, but he scores way more then he misses.
Kendrick will never be worse then Cole though. GKMC and TPAB solitified him at worst in the #2 position.
Drake gets a lot of hits throughout the season but when it comes time to deliver a grand slam with an album, his inconsistency gets him.
Kendrick is more like a pinch butter who doesn't get the same number of at bats, but when he's at the plate, everyone expects something amazing to happen.
Cole is batting cleanup and hitting .230.

For me, Cole peaked in the mixtape days, but I get that Off Season showed some big improvements. It's a solid project.

Because music quality doesn't necessarily reflect effort.
Take WLR for example. I love the album, but can we honestly act like beats and the lyrics weren't extremely simple? The outcome is mostly what matters when it comes to talking bout quality. You can have a simple formula and it clicks, or try really hard and have it still sound bad.
