It was always weird to me that Johnson and Johnson had a vaccine out of all companies. Didn't even know they had a pharmaceutical branch.

It was developed by Janssen Vaccines in the Netherlands which is part of Janssen Pharmaceuticals

Janssen Pharmaceuticals was bought by J&J, but J&J themselves have no part in developing the vaccine

send those J&J vaccines to other countries that understand statistics then

I wonder how much this could deter vaccine progress

If they find the root cause quickly I don’t think much, but then again vaccine hesitancy will rise regardless. The projected 70% rate of full vaccination rate by July will likely drop. Making the road to herd immunity longer.

Saw a reddit post saying that maybe these 6 women were on birth control or have recently given birth,so that may have boosted their chances to get blood clots

eh the amount of people who got infected helps with herd immunity too. It's very hard for people to get reinfected. It's just the new strains that catch the people who haven't caught covid

It’s literally 6 cases out of almost 7 million people. For all we know these women could have a health condition that didn’t react well with something in the vaccine or the antibody creation.

I would be concerned but it’s a stretch to say this is going to be a widespread problem at this point

i really doubt this is gonna effect the rollout in the US that much. a vast majority is pfizer and moderna and due to the contamination in the J&J plant there weren’t planned to be many J&J in the next month or two anyway. it’s bad for the rest of the world, especially places with little infrastructure where a one shot vaccine that doesn’t require intense refrigeration like J&J is much more crucial. hopefully they can find a link or not soon so it can proceed

I’m not too worried about that honestly seeing how Israel is with just 50 percent.

The damage is done imo (or soon to be)

Genie out of the bottle type s***

Cant shake the feeling this a money move. Most people would rather get the one and done so moderna/pfizer are losing numbers.

Which is funny cause they dont even tell you which vaccine youre gonna take at some places (like where i was) until you show up to the front desk lmao
