that being said, you can get vocals from an iphone and if they’re recorded properly, the quality can be okay and you can mix it well. i’ve done for artists before.

but i think kanye’s reasoning for recording on the phone is laziness and not wanting to get in the booth, not artistic expression.

i know. i’m saying a bad recording will be a bad vocal on a record lmao. we talking in circles, i said you can get a good vocal off a phone. i’ve literally received a rough vocal off iphone headphone mic and made it sound clean last week. just takes messing with the threshold and ratio.

i’m also saying kanye’s last album sounded bad on multiple songs. bad recordings. kanye doesn’t get in the booth or even sit in front of a mic, he holds the mic when he records a lot of the time now. which leads to bad vocals sometimes. and also means he’s not putting the same amount of time in as before.
