as an engineer please dont record on an iphone unless ur going for a lofi sound. it works on flight of the navigator and steve lacy's s*** cus the lofi sound fits the artistic vision.

if u want something that sounds clean tho please just use a good mic. like yes it's possible to take iphone mic vocals and tweak them until they sound passable but man it's sooo much more effort than just using a good mic from the jump.

im sure it could work if the recording is treated properly or there was a good performance to distract from the low sound quality, but kanye had s*** vocal quality, a s*** mix and a s*** performance on the songs that we know were recorded on an iphone.

so its hard to say if its the iphones fault or the fault of all of the above.
