not a woman so can't discuss any experiences of misogyny but certainly do identify as a feminist. @possum if you'd like I could provide a bit more extensive reading list and PDF's as well?

He is a half-dead, unresponsive lump, incapable of giving or receiving pleasure or happiness; consequently, he is at best an utter bore, an inoffensive blob, since only those capable of absorption in others can be charming. He is trapped in a twilight zone halfway between humans and apes, and is far worse off than the apes because, unlike the apes, he is capable of a large array of negative feelings -- hate, jealousy, contempt, disgust, guilt, shame, doubt --and moreover, he is aware of what he is and what he isn't.

I mean, is it really that extreme?

If you replace the words "men, male" with "women, female" it pretty much reads as a history book. I think that was probably her point.

MeToo really got a lot of people interested in older feminist thought.

It's really sad rape and harassment is what did that.

But can we talk about the femicide happening in Mexico??!?!

    Yes.

Solanas begins by presenting a theory of the male as an "incomplete female" who is genetically deficient due to the Y chromosome.31 According to Solanas, this genetic deficiency causes the male to be emotionally limited, egocentric, and incapable of mental passion or genuine interaction.
