I wanna fantasia my character since I'm not really f***ing with my highlander as much as I thought I'd be, but I can't decide between hrothgar and viera
they both look dope
They got bunny boys coming in November if you wanna wait for that

Only problem with Hrothgar, idk if they’ve made any updates since I last played, but most headgear doesn’t work for it.
You shouldn't buy the skip imo, it's a slow burn but it pays off. There's a whole continent worth of world building that they have to do, and understanding the game's politics, characters, and logic is really important.
Couldn’t i just get all that from a Youtube video about it?
I think what contributes to people feeling like ARR is such a slog, is part of the selling point of FFXIV is "get to Heavensward". So that thought sits in the back of your head, that everything before that point is just filler s***.
And it genuinely feels like filler s*** too, which i feel is stupid because the beginning of a game has to be interesting so it can grip new players. You don’t want the beginning of the game being the worst part of the game

At this point, you've just barely played past the tutorial. The stuff you mentioned isn't filler, it's your WoL's origin story pretty much.
A huge bulk of the game is world building. It's definitely more focused in the expansions, but the feeling of spending lots of time in an area, talking to dozens of NPCs and doing dungeons until you're familiar with every single detail of that area doesn't really go away.
The story is really, really good. But a lot of what makes is great is a result of the foundation that ARR built. To answer your question, you could just watch a synopsis on YouTube but that won't be a good replacement for the several hours of time you spend getting attached to the setting, the characters, and their conflicts.
I think you should play the game a bit more, but don't feel pressured to slog through every line of dialogue. Just listen anytime the Scions of one of the world leaders are talking and you'll find the experience at least tolerable imo.
At least power through it until you officially meet the Scions, that's around level 20 iirc.

They look dope too, but tbh I'd rather fantasia earlier in the story than later, otherwise I feel like I'd get too attached to my character and not even bother at that point

you still get a free one at some point?

Yeah, it's the reward for the final quest in ARR where you clear Praetorium

Im level 20 i think, i travelled to all the different countries and came back for the pirate dungeon, i’m gonna give it 15 more hours if i’m still using the same spell ( conjurer ) i’mma just buy the skip fr

That's a good point.
I'd choose viera
still can't decide between hrothgar or viera tbh
the hrothgar are cool but imo they went too in between being bestial like the badass Charr from GW2 and being "human-like".
also, they tied the hairstyles to the face, so you can't pay 2k gil to change the hairstyle
why tho
I hope if they decide to put more races in the game down the line, they add more bestial ones, cause they just look so damn badass
I would 100% be down to play a Burmecian or Bangaa

conjurer is a healer class just fyi, which means most of your spells will be centred around healing. If you're looking to dps with magic then you should switch to black mage lol
FF14 classes are all grouped into Tank - DPS - Healer aka mmo class trinity

Oh fr? Not really fond of healers i like being in the frontlines and using knight type of classes. Any fun classes you recommend?

bruh
might wanna go gladiator -> paladin
though you would be considered a tank, not sure if that changes anything
bruh
I honestly just chose that because the starting area looked the most lit and i thought i was going to be conjuring some crazy summons

you do that if you were an arcanist -> summoner (which is a dps, also levels scholar (a healer) at the same time, which is neat).
i played glad/paladin when i first started to play and it was fun. just like dps more since it's easier for me to turn my brain off
