whats the best way to level up? the main story quests r so bad im lvl 47 and story quests r 20.
also when do certain dungeons unlock is it automatic? I've been doing just one over and over for fast xp now
tbh not too sure how the new patch changed up the story quests (think they made it even faster to level?), but i just leveled to 80 solely doing the msq & the duty roulettes every day.
that's prob the best way to do it on your first job/class while getting through the story, since you get more than enough xp to hit 80 + you unlock just about everything progressing through the story (while doing the unlockable side quests and all of that)

I wouldn’t even worry about levelling since most of the time you’re going to be over the actual level requirements needed for the msq. I remember I was like already max level before I even start the last expansion
Cleared heavensward just about what a great story. Still feel like I have so much to see too

Stormblood and Shadowbringers next and a new update in september I think, so you're right

Oh yeah totally I just really liked the lore and characters of heavensward
What’s the endgame in this game like is it like WoW where the game doesn’t really start until the endgame or is it different? What kind of activities can I expect?
Honestly, I’m enjoying the leveling content so much I could probably just play through the story and be satisfied. Endgame is just a bonus at this point.
completely done with the MSQ now.
seat of sacrifice was some GOAT s***
Just completed the Ex version 10 times for the weapon, that s*** is no joke

can't say i'm surprised, normal was already kinda crazy. what weapon did you get?
i'm excited to get into the more endgame stuff. i'm REALLY hoping i can just stay addicted to this game for a long time.

faussar of light, the drk weapon. And I feel you, I feel like imma stay addicted to this s*** for a while cause when I think about it I really only played with 1 role so far and thats tanking, aint even tried dps or healing yet

that weapon is too clean. really like the gunblade as well
there's just so much to do as a relatively new player, so there's no real shortage of stuff to do for us lol. i'll get back to tanking at some point, still gotta work on "maxing" out my RDM (+ leveling SMN/DNC in the mean time). just praying i don't get burnt out
any idea what dps you'd like to play?

Definitely Red Mage or Samurai, they just look cool as s***. Machinist on my mind too.
Gotta say that I really like how balanced the classes are, makes it so I can actually just play whatever class I want to and not be a burden to the team

RDM is braindead easy to play. doesn't have the most dps, but there's a ton of utility that comes with it + magic & melee in a single job is cool as hell. with all of that being the case, i'm a RDM main
did you have any difficulty learning to tank? i wanna say i played GLD/PLD up to 50 then swapped to dps.

tanking pretty easy, most important thing is keeping agro of enemies, keeping bosses in a position that DPS can work with and managing your mitigation cooldowns. All this pretty much because 2nd nature after a while too.
And RDM sounds exactly like the job for me from your explanation

i'll have to give DRK another shot then. i'm just not trying to be the reason for a raid to fail or something like that. though it'll be nice getting into queues that aren't 20+ min long
RDM is nice because it's so easy/casual to play and you get to instacast cure or raise if needed, so i'm cool with not doing the most damage. figured it was the "easiest" way to get into the game and learning stuff without having to deal with a crazy rotation.

Might want to avoid some alliance raids as tank tbh, my first time in orbonne monostray alliance raid i didnt know what I was doing and niggas was hatin on me
Apart from some alliance raids being kinda toxic running everything else as a tank is fine

oh yeah, just planned on doing dungeons/trials until i know what's going on. not trying to get clowned on by 20+ ppl
though the community is almost too nice, so guess there's not too much to worry about

its nice everywhere except that specific raid for some reason lmfao
iight made an Au Ra, progressing as a Gladiator atm. On my journey to Dark Knight. Currently level 20. The game is alright, wish it had voice acting, I've been spoiled by other games, that I don't like the walls of text. The map is taking some time to get use to. It's hard for me to find objectives that are on different floors

you put anymore time into the game since this post? curious to see how you're liking it as you're progressing
