Yeah, it’s a good game.

It’s not gonna be GOTY though generally, just in small circles (mostly among hardcore FF fanboys/fangirls).

GOTY showdown is gonna be RE4R, TotK, (possibly) AC6, Diablo 4, Baulder’s Gate III, Starfield and Spider-Man 2.

SF6 will be generally ignored because it’s a fighter (thus more niche).

I read extremely linear story with many, long cutscenes. Accurate or nah?

There’s 11 hours of cutscenes. If you can handle Yakuza or most MGS then this won’t make you blink.

One thing I’m really concerned about is the item system and certain RPG elements but I’m early in the game. Certain reviews claim it doesn’t get much better in that area but I’ll find out for myself

Yeah, I don’t see it improving. Though for the most part those systems are almost always lacking in FF games.

For story quest and world off some nostalgia maybe but for gameplay I don't know
