No I think the OG deserved game of the year and Ragnarok had a better story, but too much of the same and the boss fights were meh.
2018 is a 9.5 for me and Ragnarok is a 9. XVI is a 9.5, as well IMO. What it lacks in some things it makes up for in story, world building, and the best boss fights arguably in any game ever made.

I’ve never had a game make me feel this way. It’s like being the lead role for. a 50 hour GoT Dragon Ball mashup thriller and not knowing what happens next in the script.
It’s the best FF ever made, and FFIX was my favorite game of all time before this. I think FFIX still is my favorite, but this game is better if that makes sense. Idk. Still not done so I’m also emotionally charged, but this feeling is different

FF is my favorite franchise, and I will admit I was skeptical when I saw the first gameplay footage. That said, the heart and soul of FF are all over this game and I couldn’t be happier with the new foundation moving forward, if this is the foundation.
