If they make DLC I think it should revolve around Barnabas, his mother and the people of Dzemekys, how he met Benedikta, and Cid and the Halbard guy whose hair is braided just like Jill (suspicious), how he became king of that whole continent. His back story is way more tragic than Clive's and up to a point he wanted the same thing, for bearers to be treated as equals by uniting all dominants behind him and fight back. I truly think that he had zero clue what Ultima was going to do and actually thought that Ultima was here to save the world or whatever. I think that alone would be hours of good prequel content, give us more time with characters that died too early into the game and maybe show us what Ash used to look like.

The game has fun combat that for the most part has been pretty mindless (I’m nearly 3/4ths of the way through and haven’t even died yet), exploration is absolutely ass, loot sucks for the most part, and only a handful of side quests I’ve done so far out of the dozens have been any good.

Set pieces and cutscenes are great though. But this game is just too streamlined to justify this kind of length, hell, even DMC and Bayonetta had some degree of platforming and puzzles to break things up a bit, and those games are like a quarter of the length of this.

Goddammit I just picked up another side quest that’s just go talk to these 3 NPCs after doing a main quest that was just talking to 3 NPCs.

They are bad until the second half of the game, but you do need to do some of the boring ones to unlock other ones later. Just get through them and keep an open mind for the late game ones IMO.
