there are still lots of new turn based games that are great: persona, undertale, Pokémon

as far as core gameplay changes go, it’s usually for the better, at least in recent history it seems to be helping a lot of series reach new heights

They’ve done turn-based so many times already, the devs probably want a change of pace

personally i’m excited for arpg ff especially since one of the lead designers on devil may cry 5 is doing it

in regards to turn based they should just do graphical remakes of 8 and 9 but keep the og gameplay.

I may be in the minority but turn based looks awkward wit non-stylized next gen grapghics. Keep smt/Pokémon/DQ turn based but besides that it’s whatever. I’m 30, I grew up on rpgs but I ain’t pressed on the nostalgia.
