Fire idea tbh
And its confirmed that they know how to do something like that because of the recent Trials of Mana remake in addition to FF7
I've been hearing this is in development from the FF14 team, so I'm assuming it's an MMO unfortunately
it's been like 10 years since FF14 first dropped, so it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if 16 is their next gen MMO
that Project Altia (sp?) game shown earlier in the year is apparently from what remains of the FF15 team (the director left after that game was finished) so I wouldn't be surprised if that's Square's next big AAA single player title
WoW is approaching 16 years and it’s still going strong, I doubt they would alienate their playerbase by making a new MMO, especially after the failure/re-release of ff14.
Also, if that rumor is true, that should make you excited. Parts of the story in ff14 (once you get past a lot of the filler that’s inevitable in mmos) are fantastic
I’m not gonna get hyped over a game that we’ll probably won’t play till like years later if not next gen
It will probably drop before gta 6 lmao
You don't know FF then lol
Yeah, but paying them now is a pain in the ass. We're used to great graphics and controls.
I never finished FF7 or 8. Always got stuck and said f*** it.
13 is the first one I completed.

Alienate their playerbase is exactly what they did when they launched FF14 - you guys all seem to be forgetting that FF11 was also an MMO, and that they continued to support it for several years after 14 came out.
They were running two MMOs at once, there's really no reason they can't do it again imo. FF16 can be their shiny new next gen MMO, and 14 will still have a loyal playerbase that will continue to provide revenue.

Had no idea you played 14, or any MMOs for that matter

too bad for you, they're better games than most games today imo

I used to play them. Just never finished them. And I don't feel like trying now.
Will get FF7R when I can.
Even if it doesn't come this event, it's close to being shown.
And I was made out to be an idiot.
Madness

oh yeah played WoW on and off for like 6 years but it started getting stale and I didn't have the time for it. With all the extra free time I've had this year I started getting the itch again but WoW didn't seem too appealing, decided to try FF14 and I've sunk like 200 hrs into it already.
Really like the focus on narrative in FF and being able to play it on the ps4 is nice as well

I don't think they'd make that same mistake twice. WoW has been successful without forcing their players onto a new game. Destiny 2 is going for the same model, rather than making a Destiny 3 like everyone was expecting they're just going to keep updating D2 for the next 3 or 4 years.

Damn i havent played an mmo since like the first guild wars (i dont count ESO cause i basically played that game like a single player elder scrolls outside of trading lol)
I might have to peep it on ps4

Just let it bother you, people are always skeptical of leaks

How the f*** am I back peddling? I'm saying what nearly every single source has said.
Everyone doubted me then I shown what was said. The major SE tweet from this week hints at something coming.
Are you dumb
