Different arrangement of the theme that plays when Cid transforms into Ramuh. This area looks like it might be Cid’s Hideaway so maybe this song is the equivalent of the Returners or Avalanche theme.
Also XIV has the best moogles so I'm glad the design is being reused for XVI.
Was just about to say the same thing about the moogles. Love the design they went with in 16.
If FFXVI was going to game pass dude would be in here everyday calling it the best thing ever that's what is hilarious. Just wait til it does. Gonna be "Let me give this a try." After saying nothing about it was attractive. Guys don't even try & make their bias look like objectivity anymore

Really don’t feel like we needed new info or gameplay after the PAX event.
Kinda don’t want to see anymore Eikon battles as we’ve seen plenty!
Gonna be a tough one to decide
Going from suicide squad to final fantasy

Not watching anything at this point anymore, I wanna go into this mostly blind for the best experience

By what year y’all think they gonna go back to turn based
If this is successful, probably never.
They going really hard to try and cater to new audiences with the action combat, I doubt they will throw that new audience away by going back to turn based on the next FF
I think they only way we are getting turn based combat now is through remakes of their old games

Maybe not the next one but there’s no doubt a turn based revival rn. Square def sees the love for all the 2D/HD turn based RPG’s, Dragon Quest, Bravely, Persona/SMT, even Yakuza went turn based.
And a lot of folks would put a lot of those series above modern day FF.
I feel like they’re gonna go back eventually. Would be cool for FF 20 but that seems too far away.

Problem is that SE always had insane expectations for FF, while all those games are doing good, it seems like SE wants a game to be on the level of God of War and they don't seem to think thats possible by sticking to turn based games. Maybe we will get a turn based FF but as you said I don't think its gonna be anytime soon, if anything they will do a Action/ATB hybrid like FF7R

I hate talking about sales since it's such a shallow way to approach media but: Final Fantasy is never going back to turn-based combat; it's Square's big budget flagship IP and they want it to succeed in the global market where action games are far more popular.
For comparison, Persona 5 is the most celebrated turn-based RPG in recent memory and its sales (~8 million) are barely touching a subpar action game like XV (~10 million), let alone something like Monster Hunter: World (~18 million) or Elden Ring (20 million +).
Obviously a niche for turn-based RPGs exists and Square is capitalising on it with titles like Dragon Quest, Bravely Default, Octopath Traveler, etc. but they have greater ambitions for the Final Fantasy brand.
