I have like 4 hours playtime so far and switched between English and Japanese VA a couple times and the English VA just sounds dull af and lacks personality compared to the Japanese.

Like, I played through the demo portion in Japanese this time around and Barrets character was actually pretty funny, when I played it in English during the demo I just thought he was annoying af.

The only downside to using the Japanese VA is that you have to keep the chat log enabled if you want to catch what random NPCs in the street are talking about, chat log can get pretty messy at times because theres so many NPCs talking at the same time

4 hours in and still doing sidequests.

Loving this battle system, quickly going from magic to abilities.
Levelling up the weapons and magic are nice but magic seems really quick to level up.
Already at Cura and barely used it.

You don't need to actually use materia to level it up, just have it equipped.

Reminds me of the original where you would just equip s*** so it can get XP in the background
