finished remake and intermission this weekend, man what an experience

i don't have much experience with final fantasy games, i played a bit of 10 and 15 but never really felt compelled to finish them. having heard so much about 7 over the years i finally decided to dive in and i'm so happy i did. a really special experience even though it's only game 1 of 3

intermission was so good too. i wasn't expecting a whole lot cause i knew it was a short dlc but it completely surpassed my expectations. yuffie's combat was incredible, but also pretty challenging. i died with her twice and i don't think i died once while playing the main game. i wish sonon would've been playable but it think the syncing mechanic was a unique way to get around that. sonon's death actually hit me hard, which was surprising cause i barely knew him, but that just goes to show how well it was executed

i'll probably get to rebirth sometime later this year and i'm even more excited now that i'm invested and i've already seen all the praise it got

hearing collapsed expressway at night with my headphones in first time was unforgettable

Crisis Core is really hard to play through after experiencing Rebirth’s combat system

I just want to say this game was a whole experience for me.. A good one the team put their whole love and energy in it. It's just so disrespect that they didn't win GOTY 2024. There isn't a single world when Astro Bot win over this.

But i know for sure Part 3 will win this GOTY.

I still gotta play Astro Bot whenever it goes on discount, but Rebirth is so high caliber i thought it would end up sweeping every thing Elden Ring style 💔

Still, this + crisis core reunion back to back has gotta be one of my favorite experiences in gaming ever

Rebirth is one of the best games ever for me. I don’t like open world games like that but the way they had the entire party traveling together and bantering, having full-blown heart to heart convos in random places made even the grindy parts hit so hard for me. I wanna replay it so bad

Agreed on Part 3 too they have the room to get CRAZY experimental with it if they want. What do you wanna see?

Man I miss playing that 1st playthrough s*** was so fun despite some little annoyances

When I have time before Part 3, I'll replay FFVII OG, FFVII Crisis Core, and FFVII Remake.

Similarly, it's one of the best video games I've played as a gamer. I'd even go so far as to say it's the best game of this generation, with Cyberpunk right behind it. The combat gameplay is the best an ARPG can offer; they were able to improve on what was already excellent in Remake.

I wish they would continue to improve the open world, which I loved. I have high expectations for Highwind; I want to see how they'll manage to implement it. Also, I hope, if possible, that the game goes all the way to the Advent Children era.

And to see my beloved Aerith again, my favorite.

Cyberpunk has been on my list for a minute, funny enough the only thing stopping me from playing it was FF, one way or another lol

For me I can’t wait to see what they do with the weapon fights. I know they know how important that’s gonna be and I hope it’s the craziest fight in the entire trilogy. I actually really like what they’re doing with Cloud’s delusions about Aerith being alive I was mixed on it at first but if they commit to it in Part 3, it could be one of the most unique things they’ve done in the series tonally. The setup is already so creepy and unsettling which is CRUCIAL for disc 3.
