Same, I'm on the dynamic difficulty so idk if it makes it that much harder

Game is easier or harder depending on how fast you move through it, if you’re fully exploring areas and doing all world intel & combat sims before moving to the next region you’ll probably be a lot stronger

That’s normal difficulty though, I guess if you’re on dynamic difficulty that changes

• Make good use of synergy skills (the skills you can access whilst blocking) to build ATB faster and to have an easier time handling flying enemies
• Assess enemies if you aren’t already doing that and read on what you should/shouldnt be doing
• Switch characters often. The enemy aggro isnt as broken as it was in Remake where you can just manipulate the enemy AI but its still worth doing it just to build ATB
• Also idk if you played Remake but yeah - guard often, dodging doesn’t give you iframes its better used to give yourself spacing

The first point about synergy skills is the most important since it helps build ATB faster

If anything else, try playing around in the combat sim with characters you don’t feel comfortable playing with - the game just throws 5 characters at you that all play differently along with synergy skills and synergy abilities

The more I play Remake & Rebirth the more I feel strongly about playing the original first
They don’t always nail the reenactment of plot scenes from the OG unfortunately.

Learn how to instant block & use that materia that opens the gap of how long the buffer, it's easy to build pressure / stagger that way

Tbf he was clearly having some. Dissonance with what he said.

But yeah, his super calm and cordial demeanor was wild.

Unless it's dark souls I don't get the point in making the bullet sponges take double or even triple the time to beat.

If the game is really different on higher difficulties with actual effort put in to make it a new experience that makes sense. But most high difficulties just make you die faster and they take longer to die.

Just a waste of time to me

What’s the point of elemental materia f I can unlock abilities that require no MP for wind/fire/ice magic etc

I miss the simplicity of 7remake tbh

the abilities do little to no damage

Also you won’t have every magic materia on every character so it’s a nice balance unless you like switching materia b4 every fight

It’s actually much simpler now you can have a weak version of the magic spell on every character and can focus on have different types of materia

I’m 30 hours in and still only on chapter 4
