I’m right outside of junon and so far I’m not in love with the game like I was with remake, but I don’t dislike it either. It’s definitely not GOTY material like many are saying, but perhaps that could change as I continue since I’m still early in the game. It definitely feels like a nice slow burn.

There’s a bunch of small s*** that annoys me about this game so far but it’s not destroying my enjoyment or anything.

Finally beat Bahamut in that Top Secrets VR bullshit and solo’d Pride & Joy with Tifa.

Finally got it a few days ago. Really is exceeding expectations for me and is GOTY so far imo. Not like GTA 6 is coming out this year.

I feel you, I have a lot of issues with this game and I have had the thought "I hope they fix this in the next game" too many times but there is just a certain magic to all of this that I also can't really ignore. I dunno its hard to encapsulate my feeling on this game right now

I'd say it really doesn't get any better the further in you get, unfortunately. I'm pretty lenient with most things in games, but there's been several times where I've just gotten so annoyed I have to take a break lmao. I don't think that's ever happened to me in a single player game before.

Yup, that's exactly how I feel. Really hard to explain it, honestly. Personally, the over abundance of mini games, completely meaningless mechanics (overall padding, really), and some gameplay jank bother me quite a bit. Like, do we REALLY need a mini game to capture chickens with a chicken feed or manually plug electric cables into machines?

Playing as Cait Sith throwing the boxes for like an hour had me losing my mind. That s*** did not need to be that long. Fortunately most of my complaints are just optional things, but it does suck when the main content is (generally) really good and enjoyable, but then some of the side content just being miserable to play is not fun lol. Any time I had to do a proto relic and it involved some sort of mini game I just groaned.

The game absolutely does have something about it that makes me not want to think/worry about the negatives though.

This game is the definition of mixed feelings!
