She's 100% dead, they only made it cryptic to show how delusional and oblivious Cloud is due to his cognitive dissonance. Everyone else in the group is fully aware and affected by her death except Cloud.

This is a big issue with remake and Rebirth especially, they don't really let the emotional scenes breath that much. The tonal shift and emotional whiplash of that scene specifically is bizarre.

I can confidently say that Rebirth is GOTY 2024. I was so worried that they would f*** up the game after the changes that were made to the story in Remake. Square completely shut me right up. This game is a masterpiece in literally everything. Combat, music, world building, storytelling. The graphics are f***ing phenomenal too although there are definitely some spots here and there where it looks PS3 tier. The ONLY two downsides for me personally are the new Punisher Mode combo and sometimes the minigame padding can be too much. Everything else tho? Game is chefs kiss.
Almost makes me wanna go back and replay the OG but idk if it’s aged well or not.

At first I hated the new Punisher combo but that s*** be putting in work if you just wanna stagger someone & they're pressured. Prime Mode is od

I like it but I could see the upper limits of it. Wish I don't know that it was more malleable past the end. I managed to make a good deck myself with just my instincts & trial & error
