I’m watching this video right now and this s*** is wild lmfao. Nigga got surrounded for no reason hahahaha Me and my homies had a similar experience in Colombia (side note: If you’re a black man, I highly suggest you make your way down ASAP!!! Thank Me Later!!!) but no where near this intense. My question is why though? I’ve heard and seen some of the stories of people going to places like China and people walking up and wanting to touch their hair and take pictures with them. In Colombia, we clearly stood out but I was really surprised by how people seemed to just gravitate towards us outside of the niggas who were just trying to sale us on a hotel or something but people who were genuinely interested in who we were and even going so far as offering food and just being genuinely kind for no reason. Have we been brainwashed by the American propaganda machine to think that we aren’t seen as beloved magical beings all over the world or did they just think Bruh was a rapper? Lol

As a Pakistani this is dope to see
Most are just curious.. they've never seen a black person irl. They just have an image of black people from Hollywood and cricket
Here's a vid of a international student from Nigeria talking about his experiences in Pakistan
He even adopted a Pakistani accent when he talks English lol

Accent is sending me, it's just not matching how he looks
Wild! Imagine how much different the world would be if we were all able to live and learn amongst each other freely and experience each other’s cultures!
We’re all able to but some people choose to live in ignorance
They know he is a foreigner and is going to document it so they know to be on their best behavior (which is to be super welcoming and friendly almost verging on mawkish). Pakistanis/Indians have a reputation for being hospitable so they try to lean into it when interacting with tourists. Probably a bit cynical of me.
Pakistan especially gets a bad rep on many different things so this is one way to offset that but there is a "good image" projection here which you can receive however you wish.
Generally there is a sincere willingness to engage and serve guests especially in lower middle and working class people. But the tendency to make a show of it gets to me especially when these niceties are not extended on the regular to each other.
Things are increasingly getting difficult in Pakistan but you get the sense that day to day nobody has any patience or honesty for anybody. You'd think you're living in a western town.

Most of the world have barely any races living among them outside of their own
Especially outside the western world
This. It's not exclusive to just black people. We live in a diverse country so it's not "fascinating" to us. It's a beautiful thing to be treated kindly.....We can learn from them
I was treated like a king in Sydney once they heard my accent and figured out I wasn't a native.
Damn shame.
