    back or whatever

Hey y'all. I've been off KTT for a couple of months. Figured I'd come back to give a Jewish perspective on everything that's going on right now. For some background, I'm not heavily religious, but my grandmother was a Holocaust survivor who emphasized the power of religion in keeping our family together. I grew up in a majority Jewish affluent neighborhood. Kanye was also a role model for me. His music and confident persona gave me a certain framework to cope with severe depression. So I feel pretty equipped to provide some perspective for people who don't understand just how harmful Kanye's rhetoric has been and also just want to provide some venting on how much this sucks.

I also don't want this to become a breeding ground for whataboutisms. I vehemently oppose hateful rhetoric against all walks of life.

I'm going to start with some concessions. Yes, the entertainment and banking industries are rife with Jewish executives. I know some people in these sorts of positions. I can tell you that they did not get their jobs because of their religion. They got their jobs because they were put in positions early on to go to prestigious institutions, which ultimately leads to prestigious jobs. Jewish culture places great emphasis on education. It is laughable to think that there's some Jewish cult that's determining every major decision and ensuring that more Jews come in to perpetuate their "agenda."

Speaking of agenda, I do not understand how there could even be such thing as a "Jewish agenda." The idea that Jews want to create a more secular world is simply not grounded in reality. There are 8 million Jews in America. In what world would a "path to domination" through the secularization of the United States even become feasible?

That's the most I'll do to refute any of these idiotic points. Because they are that stupid and antisemitic. Now I want to move to the consequences.

The past month has presented us with the most public antisemitism that I have seen in my life. We live in a society where people want someone to blame. The average dude who has never met a Jewish person in his life is now blaming Jews for all of their problems because they supposedly all have the power to ruin everyone's lives. Simply put, none of it makes sense. It never will.

Jews are disproportionately targeted by hate crimes already. In 2020, Jews were the third highest targeted group, despite making up about 2% of the U.S. population. I can only imagine more hate crimes in the coming months. More synagogues burning. More Orthodox Jews attacked on the streets. I go to a religious school. I legitimately fear that my school will be targeted, and targeted soon.

This is the same rhetoric that was responsible for starting the Holocaust. That's why this is dangerous. Kanye (and Kyrie while we're at it) have promoted antisemitism to at least 100,000,000 people at this point. I remind you, there are 8,000,000 Jews in the United States. I would willingly bet that most Americans don't know a Jew personally, since we're mostly localized around the coasts. These comments being the most that a lot of people will ever know about Jewish people is deeply troubling, and likely to proliferate more hate crimes.

To end all of this, I'm scared. I'm scared for myself. I'm scared for my friends. I'm scared for my family. The only way for the notion of Jewish power to be defeated is by attacking Jewish people with no consequences. Any consequence for these attacks is merely viewed as proving Kanye's point. It's a lose-lose for us.

I hope that this can provide some perspective. Happy to answer some questions before I ask for a perma ban again.

    Love to you!

I’m with you there brother. Also Jewish. Grew up idolising Kanye for how he changed the world in a positive way with his music and pushed creative boundaries that no one ever did before. Then to live through this is extremely painful for me.

    Yayo

I see these posts and I don’t get why they’re here

KTT is more negative about ye than Twitter, youtube and tiktok

Because people don't want to understand that there'll always be that 5 or 10 percent of people that will stand on their opinion no matter how hard-headed it is, and figure that beating them over the head with it will change their minds when it just makes them stuck in their ways.

  • Nov 1, 2022

At some point you guys have to ask yourselves if constantly making these threads is doing more harm than good (which I absolutely think it is) and if the attempts to punish Ye has actually helped anything.

I dont think that's it at all, I think it's more of cognitive dissonance.

On one hand, they hear that the Jewish community absolutely isn't powerful and able to exert control, and on the other hand they see a man lose billions and become a pariah because he went at them (which is seemingly proving his rhetoric)

You can talk until your spit dries how this is due to people/corporations clamping down on harmful misinformation, and not wanting to be associated with it, but people are still going to see it as "the jews took him down"

Just saying that antisemitism is very multicultural and widely accepted compared to white nationalism
    Youre also correct tho

You're absolutely right, too, I was trying to give some additional context.

  • Nov 1, 2022

We spent all of 2020-2021 talking about how white people are over represented and that criticism was taken to heart. The ones we can’t name ARE even more over represented. They are untouchable because they control the narrative.

It’s not the not giving a f*** element for me as beyond the normal part of being human and caring about other people and not wishing them harm, I think people can’t expect others to actively care about them. However, it’s the actual racism and deep rooted hate which has blindsided me

yeah that's kinda what i meant. my op there makes it seem like i still have some parasocial relationship with dude, and i'm def too old for that.

you hit the nail on the head. it's the not giving a f*** about the consequences. not giving enough of a f*** to learn anything. it's shameful and just upsetting to see your heroes fall like that.

You’re good man, I didn’t read it in that way.

For me this has completely changed how I feel about Kanye. I will not support him at all after this, no music streaming, no tours, nothing ever again. I’ll probably still listen to his old stuff as I have it saved on ITunes from CD.

But I got a bunch of Yeezys that I don’t know what to do with I bought them years ago and they’re comfy shoes so want to keep wearing them. But I don’t want anyone coming at me as a Jew wearing Yeezys

You're just mad cause you hopped on the Kanye train 5+ years after his most recent great album and now defending the most ridiculous positions is like second nature to you, even if it's just like the muscle memory of a decapitated chicken

You haven’t even made any claims that could possibly be determined to be right or wrong, you just told a Jewish person to move to Israel
