It’s pretty telling that any contemporary great in hip hop (and some outside hip hop) you can think of had something good to say about him. You can’t say that for anyone else really. He wasn’t for people who live with their heads up their ass.

people forget that before we knew about the domestic abuse, x was really gaining a fair amount of traction for how experimental he was and how well it all came together. even when i read reviews of his music, many of them say something like "the actions of this musician are unforgivable" or " i might enjoy this if i didn't know what horrible things he did" but once everything came out it was a race to bury him.
