Not sure if Wexler was just being humorous but he said that a “rapper” aka Pusha did a diss track (Adidon) which made the potential deal with Drizzy fall through.

Unless Drake was already working on a Nike deal back then already and used it as leverage? Adidon really felt to me that it caused the fall through and they couldn’t reconcile that, and Kanye/Drakes relationship on the same brand.

Do you think Wexler is saving face as they couldn’t reconcile what happened with Ye/Pusha with Drake or that he was dead set on the Nike deal and used this as leverage?

We know Drizzy has been a Nike fan since day 1 so the leverage option makes sense but I’d want to know how long in the pipeline was the Nike deal?

Why would it matter if him and Ye are both on Adidas?

He was always going to sign with Nike imo. Back then, it was clear he was having meeting with both brands and seeing the best situation he could end up with but he has always loved Nike and in 2019, when he started rocking Nike HEAVY, I knew they'd reached a deal.
