    WESLEY THE GREAT

The problem with a lot of CrasH Talk wasn’t necessarily the sound. DJ Dahi brought great production to the table, I think Q was just uninspired rapping wise and just phoned it in partially.

The biggest issue with CrasH Talk was the lack of Q’s identity and what made him so special on previous releases. He’s seemed to get his mojo back with his excellent recent features though.

Sound isn’t just about production quality. Yes Crash Talk has beats that were objectively good/great but the overall sound/feeling/inspiration of the album was just flat and boring. Much more reason to that just Q’s lyrics falling flat.

A lot of the production was pretty good though sonically. The only production I personally didn’t think was that great was Lies. The feeling was lifeless at times because of Q, not because of the music itself. Q’s delivery was the issue for alot of the songs, not his flow or lyrics. He just sounded bored on some of it, like he was rapping cuz he needed to drop an album.

he didn't sound bored he sounded downtrodden, which fits perfectly with what he was rapping about
He brought energy on CHopstix and Lies and they're the ones people hated the most

    Lol no
He brought energy on Numb Numb Juice and for a lot of people this song is a highlight

Attention is another highlight where he actually sounds downtrodden, not bored

Songs like Die Wit Em are perfect example of him just going on autopilot and sounding bored

Idk just overall he really uses this "blah blah AYY" flow on a lot of album cuts and it sounds mad lazy for me

Dude got renegaded by Lil Baby on Water exactly because Baby brought hella energy to that song

    WESLEY THE GREAT

I don’t think Zay is struggling to come up with a concept or struggling to make good music, I think he’s just trying to make a “masterpiece” and his expectations for greatness are ridiculously high. He played one snippet on IG live back in March/April and it sounded AMAZING.

    All the snippets are amazing
