Singer-songwriter from Harlem, New York. Her love for music stemmed from her mother, who was a drummer for PEP, an all-female Jamaican reggae band. Since she was little she was introduced to this art by listening to artists like Bob Marley, and with influences from Chaka Khan to Frank Ocean. All this resulted in a sound that oscillates between R&B and neo soul, fresh and different from the one we know.

Fousheé had been in the middle of writing songs for her next project when she decided to take a detour to Jamaica – the last time she’d visited was when she was 6. She scrapped the songs on which she’d been working and started anew, using elements of the music that was literally in her blood to help push her sound and songwriting into a new direction. On ‘Pointy Heights’, Fousheé diverges from the grizzled punk feel of her 2022 debut album ‘softCORE‘, a project that fully leaned into down-tuned and riff-based rock. Recapturing her instinctual love of reggae, the album is “rich with crackling bass lines, spangly guitar parts, and rollicking, sharp drum sounds.”
Need to check out her music. Always know a track is going to be a highlight on an album when I see her listed as a feature
