grand soir and amyris my favs

My Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi tester came in today

And gotta say I'm a bit disappointed
There's a lot of hype around it either on here or just by looking at fragrantica reviews so I expected this to be a hidden gem

But to me the smell is too "simple"
It's beautiful. Don't get me wrong. Fig is great.

But when it's on my skin it's smells very "one dimensional"
All I smell is fig and maybe a lil citrus note blended with the fig.
Nothing else.

And the simplicity of that smell doesn't give me that confidence expensive fragrance give

I'm not one to buy expensive things just bc of the name but when I put Tom Ford Costa Azzurra on I felt like a God and smelled like one. Every time the smell flew next to my nose it was different note I was smelling. It was cypress, then it was the lemon, pine...

With this, although they smell really nice and fresh, I feel like I smell like I just came out the shower using a good quality fig shower gel.

I don't feel like it's a smell where a girl would want to be closer to you just bc of the smell.

But it's day 1.
Maybe with time I'll fell in love with it

But my first reaction wasn't a "wow" and If I didn't feel that the people that meet my won't feel that either...

just nicer, i wouldn’t categorize Acqua di Parma as premium, but they do have some nice scents for summer.

I am currently on the look out for a summer scent and the only one i‘ve found so far that is bottle worthy for me is Nio by Xerjoff. The price hittin though
