“ Coachella parent company AEG is threatening legal action against a filmmaker who created a concert movie using found footage of Frank Ocean’s controversial April 16 set at the festival.
Brian Kinnes, who did not attend Coachella, stitched together about 150 videos uploaded by concertgoers to YouTube, TikTok and Twitter to make an unofficial, multi-cut film that accounts for the entirety of Ocean’s set, which spanned about one hour and 20 minutes. Kinnes launched his film online Tuesday and, that same day, received a cease and desist order from entertainment company AEG, demanding that Kinnes “remove and destroy all audio and video content … of musical performances from the Festival.””

not to mention franks FYF/panorama sets
not to mention pearl jam grateful dead etc.

i listen to phish and grateful dead daily and there’s tons and tons of old footage synced up to high quality soundboards. Both bands also allowed people to bring microphones in and tape the entire show, and people still do it to this day at Phish shows. you can listen to them for free and the quality is actually very good. if only people thought of that for like any other concert lol

much love for nugs. i listen to a lot of jam bands, just wish they’d lower the prices on the livestreams. it’s like $30 to watch a live phish show (nugs runs live phish site) which is kinda getting out of hand when you can listen the next day with a $10 subscription.
