ok so what I think happened is he planned for months with a live stream in mind to have an extravagant show with super weird cool remixes and a DJ set and he would get involved in choreography for Nights and Nikes, then he got injured and didn't want to have the whole show if it couldn't be done with his involvement and they had to scale it back to just a band, he only wanted people at home to see the full extravaganza so maybe it might be on for next week, maybe not

To him I think so because what many expect of or want of him is out of scope in terms of wild set design, over the top production, new music, all the old hits off CO, NU, features, surprise guest, Endless.

They want an organized set from an artist who hasn't toured in nearly a decade. Very few artist lifetime have had great return sets after not performing for that long I think of Daft Punk, Rage Against the Machine off the top but its very rare to have that same energy, passion and in this case not with your own freedom or audience but Coachellas

Nothing about this makes any sense.

These seem like honest dudes and they have photo evidence of them being there, so their story seems truthful.

Frank’s PR came out and said he sustained the ankle injury a week prior, and they were doing rehearsals up until the day of, so why did he wait until 3PM on Sunday to cut the skating stuff and change the entire set? Just wasted hundreds of those people’s time when he could’ve just changed the plans way earlier than the actual day of the set

they talk about the ice. Something clearly went wrong with the ice in the weather

on Tuesday was when they did the rehearsal and last saw Frank before the day, and everything went smoothly, I imagine very soon after he injured himself and so them saying a week isnt exactly 7 days, he was probably hopeful of being good for the performance until the day of where it all fell apart

I think Nikes and Nights were meant to have Frank involved in some ice rink choreography and thats why they were played without him singing, he didn't want the skating stuff to go on unless the whole vision played out

I just got a couple minutes later in the video, they said there was no issue with the ice or the set, and that he just changed his mind and said “fuck this” because of the ankle injury

this is also making me think he'll probably do the whole ice rink stuff next week and it wasnt changed out of not liking the idea anymore

80 degrees and ice lasting for 12 hours still makes no sense to me how there was no issue with the ice but perhaps lol

I don’t understand why Frank didn’t just give a brief explanation at the beginning of his set like “hey had a whole thing planned, hurt my ankle, so we had to change the whole set last minute”. Everyone would’ve understood if he just communicated that with the audience and people would’ve gotten that they were trying to work around the problem so that’s why it ended up feeling disjointed at points

Ironic because he announced four more shoes the morning after his set off the sheer strength of his performance

most people would have hated either way. Some would be slightly more forgiving.
