he’s in that Kanye post his 2010-2013 run, Kendrick post his 2015-17 run, Beyoncé post her 2013-2016 run, D’Angelo post voodoo kinda space right now
Where there’s really no winning because you can’t retread old ground when it’s already been done so perfectly and whatever new direction you take will almost definitely not be as good as your last
Where I’m sure releasing something feels borderline detrimental to your legacy
This is a shame considering he's only has 3 albums

That post is wrong, though, Frank isn’t worried at all. He had the same critical acclaim for Channel Orange, and then came back 4 years later with Blonde.
Frank is just focused on school, his brother’s passing, and Homer. It’s not at all he feels too much pressure coming off Blonde. He had the same praise for CO

Nah fam, the praise for blonde and channel orange are in complete different universe.
Adding on to that. The wait for blonde he had the expectations of living up to only channel orange, and even then he still had writer's block for a whole year.
Now it's 7 years and he has the expectations of living up to both CO and Blonde. Him being worried isn't unlikely at all when it has happened to him before and other artists who had such a long wait b/n albums

Did you become a fan after Blonde released? CO was def praised as highly as Blonde, I have been a fan since 2011. Folks thought CO was better, especially review publications.
Also, source on him having writer’s block?
Lastly, I don’t agree with that last paragraph, dude already said in 2012 he wanted to stop making albums & write a book. He’s not worried, just busy
That was a superb drop for me
I had a very fun night that night
in 2020, the world wasn’t ready for a dance music album from frank. but in 2023, i feel like dance music, especially jersey club and house, is having a huge moment and this album could be a massive success

No lol. I'm not saying channel orange wasn't highly praised, but blonde is clearly praised more.
If ur talking review publications, just look at their greatest albums of all time rankings, it's consistently rated higher.
If ur talking how fans talk about the albums, blonde is talk about more. Even just look at the songs people wanted him to perform at coachella or the amount of artists that gush over blonde.
If ur talking about sales, blonde been outperforming channel orange.
And here's the source

Dawg that was in 2012 lol he just said in that magazine thing back in 19/20 he wants to drop an album. Even as recent as the coachella performance. To chopped up the wait as him just being busy is not realistic lol
