Notes: Without warning even to Chito himself Frank Ocean strolled into this show with no security or entourage. He explained he comes to Seattle and likes hiking solo in the NW outdoors. He was one of the first customers when Chito presented in LA and was not widely known yet. Chito introduced Frank to his family on the red brick of Occidental Park. Murmurs began within 10 minutes that the enigmatic artist was on-site and the loitering crowd turned toward frenzy. Frank breezed out as low key as he arrived. It was 15 minutes tops. I just happened to be standing there and recognized quickly the weight of the moment — and I listened to their interaction. Frank is notoriously camera averse so I did very little to disrupt this occasion and the pair of images you see here are all I dared to attempt. I have of course presented these with more variety for a fuller picture of that day…
