My point is expecting jewelry of that quality to be marked down to a price sell to "fans" seems silly even saying out loud. The market he's entering with this brand isn't tied with the market he's been operating under with his music. He's not selling these products to his fans; the target consumers have very little overlap. It's clear that he want to someday rub shoulders with other LVMH houses who specialize in luxury goods with this brand.

I think it’s a valid point to say fans can be entitled and expect music
But I don’t think the argument about fans wanting music before anything else because that’s how they were introduced to him works. Because to 99.9% of people who were Frank Ocean fans prior to this announcement, this offers nothing to them. It’s cool and all but it’s not like he’s doing a film or something that people are upset about not being music. He’s doing something that the vast majority of people can’t engage with because of price.
