bored at work and so curious what he was planning in 2019-20
bear with me this some crazy qanon stan s***
the leaked michel egger concept covers for DHL and In My Room showed the same 13 silhouettes and some x’d out text that hinted at 3-4 singles
the jeremy strong pic being hidden in the prep poster makes me really curious too. was he going to repress blonde as part of the 2019-20 rollout?
also, why did the prep parties suddenly stop? i felt like those were building up to something.
also doesn’t explain why he went radio silent from in my room drop until he put dear april/cayendo up
and coachella got pushed back/eventually cancelled/everything else in his life happened.
the day before lockdowns we were about 1 month out from his coachella performance. he was filming a music video in LA for a song supposedly called “feeling’s gone”.
“these days” was copyrighted by blonded the same day he said he was going to put a new song out on vinyl instead of “little demon”.
so strange, like everything with him. but i’m really curious why all the prep stuff stopped after in my room dropped and that we were one month out from coachella in 2020 with essentially no word from him
yikes this post is embarrassing. sorry
I think he was just going with the flow. I’m not a fan of the silhouette theory. I don’t for one second think an album was actually coming out. The pandemic definitely affected it, he canned that star hoodie that was apart of the 2020 tour, perhaps the new tracks were just fresh material?
Frank stated before that he wasn’t going to do singles because it built up expectations and he’s fascinated by the idea of surprise. It’s a pattern we’ve seen throughout his career but most notably post Endless/Blonde. He even pulled the plug on the August 5th release because NYT reported it early. With Channel Orange, he was already pulling it to a lesser degree with that surprise week early drop on live television.
Anyways, following LP3 & 4, practically everything from merch drops, singles to Blonded Radio and Homer have all come through a surprise.
Frank vaults videos all the time from Super Rich Kids, Hotel, Drive In, Chanel, & Moon River. I do think we’ll get a similar pattern with a video following the project though, maybe then?
Prep+ got mad heat from blogs and the LGBTQ community, I wouldn’t be surprised if pulled the plug on it because of that. Plus, he was in his dance bag at that time so a little recreation of fun club nights he had in Berlin doesn’t necessarily mean much, i don’t think.
Did he drop? Havent kept up because i dont f*** with liars and flakes.
Yup, album dropped last night
ITS OVER
fr? im too scared to contact support, dont wanna hear the bad news
i’m also so curious to know what kind of tour he was planning in 2020. small venues? stadiums? does anyone know anything about any leaked dates? could have sworn there was an MSG rumor…
though i feel like frank could pull off a stadium mini tour. like 5-6 cities, 2 nights each… doubt whatever tour he ends up doing will be more than 15 shows. and if he can get thousands of ppl to pay $65 for a vinyl, i’m sure he could command an average ticket price of ~$150-$200.

If you’re in the east coast/tri state most peoples haven’t been sent yet. Even though they’re shipping from Jersey we’re like the last to have ours shipped lmao

2023!
4 months till Coachella
So so much to look forward to this year!
insanely excited for the lineup to drop this year. weekend 1 we out
what yall think
you think i can manage to make a trip to coachella happen this late?
i always hear how expensive it is, and that always seems to be the biggest issue
camping with friends is relatively cheap in the scheme of things. and it makes the experience way more meaningful, i’ve been twice now and would only camp.
camping pass for 1 car is like 100, split that between 4-5 people per car in your group
buy cheap food, alcohol etc to bring into the campgrounds, you could get away with spending 100/person probably
use offerup to buy, or rent a tent/sleeping bags if you don’t have it already
pretty much the only real big expenses outside of travel obviously and the ticket
Would love it if twigs was on the line up too
I'd def skip the fest other than the day Frank plays if the line up is looking weak, and I haven't cared for one of their line ups in years

not sure where you got that he didn’t want to release singles from because he actually said the opposite. he wanted to release singles because it was a free form medium and mentioned wanting to do something “different” with album releases, which in my mind confirms that he planned to release each silhouette as a song so that an album / playlist could be compiled.
dear april and cayendo also have the silhouettes on their acoustic released on streaming which is further confirmation.

no tf we’re not
ain’t got mine yet fam
It’d be cool if Frank was just straight up like “yo, I’m gonna have a really tough time topping Blond so it’s gonna be a while” instead of hiding behind the guise of doing some weird different release strategy which is just him sporadically dropping bread crumbs.

I’m not a musician but isn’t “trying to top X” a weird mindset to have while trying to create something?
