March 29 Update Part 1

State's witness from yesterday testifies that she was sexually harassed by the state's investigator and is afraid of the state.

She says that's the reason that she refused to show up to court before the state had her arrested.

Keith Adams starts the morning by addressing the state's question from yesterday - "Are you afraid of Jeffery Williams?".

The witness she had no reason to ever be afraid of Thug. She says, instead, she was actually on edge and afraid of the state.

She says it felt like the state's investigator, a Mr. Hamilton, was trying to date her and ended up sexually harassing her.

The DA objects to the "relevance" of the state sexually harassing the witness - overruled by the judge.

The witness refused to meet him alone and had to bring her 20 year old son with her.

March 29 Update Part 2

The witness says the state's investigator said he would love to "take her out when this is all over".

The state's investigator also told her to not talk to anyone else at all about the case.

She says she lost her job due to how many times the state's investigator asked her to meet with him.

Mr. Hamilton told her "don't worry, i'll get you a job"

March 29 Part 3

We've moved on to the 2013 incident . The witness denies everything the State said about her telling the police Thug, DK, and Thug's brother robbing her at her apartment and says that never happened.

Keith Adams asks if what "actually" happened was Thug, DK, and someone named Buck-Buck (not thugs brother) walked into her apartment and Buck-Buck stole some heroin from her. He asks if it's true no one was armed robbed. He asks if it's true DK never shot in her apartment.

He also asks if she ever told Ola Playa (her BD) buck-buck called her to apologize for stealing her heroin. He also asks if she recalls Thug saying he'd pay for it.

Apparently, Keith Adams has a "good-faith basis for asking this" but the witness also denies all of this and says none of this happened.

March 29 Update Part 4

Ms. Love has now moved onto showing the jury that the investigator accused of sexually harassing the witness actually did provide a job application to her son.

Ms. Love implies that Ms. Bennett didn't want to take the stand so that she wouldn't be labeled a snitch.

She asks her about the phrase "snitches get stitches"

Ms. Love then reads out texts where the state investigator refers to the witness as "Mama"

Yes, that's the same investigator that Ms. Bennett said sexually harassed her.

A 5 minute break turns into a 25 minute and the Judge decides to just call it a day.

He will let the witness go home, but put an ankle monitor on her for the next 7 days until she comes back next Monday.

That was it for today.

March 29 Update Part 5

After all this Brian Steel has an issue to bring up to the Judge.

He says Ms. Love messed up today and has turned herself into an "unsworn witness" by injecting her own knowledge of facts/conversations into her questions, forcing the jury to have to weigh the credibility of the witness vs the credibility of the lawyer, which is improper.

Steel says that Thug's defense now should have the right to cross-examine ADA Adriane Love.

Ms Love does not respond to Steels assertions at all and simply asks that Steel be required to make the motion in writing.

He has until Monday. The state will do their homework and respond by Wednesday.

Here's the schedule for next week:

Monday: No court

Tuesday & Wednesday: Motion to revisit lyrics in light of supreme court decision + motion to limit witnesses.

Thursday & Friday: No court

Monday (April 8th): Ms Bennet is back on the stand

Basically, jurors have next week off.

Trial will resume April 8th.

Young Thug's lawyer has filed his motion to disqualify Prosecutor Love for becoming an unsworn witness and calls for a mistrial.
