He’s right from a numbers POV. There’s less rappers than basketball players. And they are paid much less than them as well.
But the NBA requires more actual work to make it
To make it in the NBA you have to be one of the top 500 (even less realistically) basketball players in the world talent wise AND work hard. Either you're good enough or not.
Not saying rappers aren't skilled but you can absolutely make it as a rapper with one hot beat and knowing the right people

There’s also more people who play in sports than rappers though.
Every high school has a ratio of like 50 aspiring basketball players and like 5 aspiring rappers

Good point
I suck at basketball and can't rap, there's still a infinitely higher chance I'd make it as a rapper
Rapper who made it says it's the hardest to do what he did
He's just tryna suck his own d***
Dude who hasn’t made it in rap talks about how hard it is to make it in rap I’m inclined to agree with him

I know you’re joking but all things considered, French has been around well over a decade and We are still talking about him lol
He’s doing something right
Chain busting it down, wrist busting it down (down)
Your b**** busting it down (down), game up f***ing it now (now)
I'm not agreeing with him
But y'all are laughing at him because you view basketball players as more talented
But it's the fact that rap isn't really just about talent that makes it so difficult. You can be the very best rapper and still not make a ripple in the industry
If you're the best baller (and I mean the whole package by that when I'm talking about talent), you'll have gone through a whole system and pathway for the NBA.
I don't wanna say making it in music is just down to chance but a lot of stars have to allign

niggas just wanna be d***heads and laugh at French Montana like he's not a credible source. if Kanye, Drake, or Jay-Z (people he knows in real life and has worked with btw) said this they'd give this opinion a fair listen.

Thoughts?
i agree. at least with the NBA it's a somewhat linear path. You can be the greatest rapper ever and not make it bc labels think you're ugly. or because you can't make a crossover hit and they drop you. or you just never make the right connections because a lot of people in the music industry are hard to meet and even harder to get a fair chance from. most rappers also make Way less than even an Average NBA player, meaning a player the average fan would not know by name or face recognition.
