im currently taking a UX design course on Google but thats for the next 5 months, im already 2 months in
and ill try to sign up for Medicaid
Nice, what else can you do in the meantime to get a job now?
There are contract and temp roles that will be like stepping stones for you.
Everything is in your control to change, I understand it sucks now but trust yourself that you know how to improve your situation
spend some hours of ur day learning something that will be useful in the future, like producing, programming, etc (you need to love the process)
wasting hours of ur time doing nothing on ktt2 or any social media is the worst thing u can do rn tbh
maybe fine a part time non career job even at a grocery store or something, it'll get some money coming in and get you out of the house a few times a week, keep your head up man
i got fired from Whole Foods earlier this year because of my ex

learn something new (related to UX design), don't depend on your course to learn something if u really loves this, you can improve by yourself.
You’re only 25 OP, I highly suggest you pick up some shifts tending bar or waiting tables while you still have youth to cling to. It gets you out of the house, talking to people and the city is never gonna run out of bars/restaurants/venues. You’re leaving work with money in your pocket every night. Free meals too
Plus if you work at a place that hosts bands, you’ve got a free concert every night. Distract yourself with concerts, very vital to one’s mental health IMO
Park Slope Center for Mental Health provides free psychotherapy (at least, it used to - haven’t been in several years) and may be able to provide an assessment/informed opinion about what you’re feeling
As a 30 y/o autist in the city who still feels like this sometimes despite a job,I’m the Jacob Marley of this thread and I’ve come back to tell you that better living is possible if you start today but ONLY if you start today
The changes can’t wait! Don’t let it fester any longer
NY posters are good people btw, very friendly folks. Go to a KTT artists show and you’re bound to meet someone you share interests with

i really love music but i’ve learned too much about the music industry both underground and mainstream to have the same passion for it
UX design is almost like a gateway for me in a way, plus i needed something with structure

eh all those online ones you gotta take with a grain of salt. You would really want to meet with someone who can assess properly then you can get the diagnosis and a ton of support through government/community
autism is a very complex thing that is completely different for every person who has it too, so who knows.
unfortunately getting diagnosed as an adult instead of through child find can be tricky, time consuming, and complicated to get started. but can Definity be worth it. I know a person nearing 40 trying to get tested but insurance can be a big hangup depending on your state (Idk about ny)
edit I just saw the link name and put together what it says. id tread lightly with that
hang in there. remember this too shall pass. keep ur head up and keep trying. everything will pay off eventually.
sounds generic but this is the only way to go. having a relationship in god/christ goes a long way too

i i think i have undiagnosed autism
i hate it
where are you from, OP?
You can always chill with friends at a park or walk around and people watch. Its getting cold out now, but checking out the xmas markets while having a beverage is a good budget friendly activity.
