There is no Michael Jackson of other genres; the enthusiasm Micheal brought and the touch that he had to many people around the world (not even speaking about his music) was something that is extremely hard to replicate and to even argue that someone is the "Michael Jackson" of something ends up being a reach
MJ of rap. His dominance in rap and his reach can be compared to mj in pop music. I’m not Lietrally saying it’s on the same level but they’re very similar

Like to put them on that real GOAT level there needs to be a whole layer of substance that I didn't really find on those albums, at least personally speaking.

Here’s the thing tho. Notice how you shifted to production (neither drake nor Hov produce) because if we focused on the rapping and music itself it isn’t even close

You were the one who mentioned MUSIC first, I agree with the rapping aspect, Hov is the best MC of all time and totally bodies Drake on that department. Drake is more versatile as a vocalist tho. Also no way Hov made better overall music than drake

Reference tracks are not the same as having people write songs for you and you perform them, which is the insinuation with Drake.

First we need to determine what GOAT means in this case. According to the arguments people use itt, no one here seems to agree on what it means.
Is it commercial sucess and reach? If so I think no rapper has been as big as Drake. So yes he's undoubtedly the "GOAT".
Is it based on my pure enjoyment of the music, rapping skills and conceptuality etc...? I think its very strange that Drake's name is brought up to this conversation.
