I’m 10 minutes in but this episode is lookin like a classic.
This season is gonna be so good in hindsight.
I watched the whole ep before seeing any reactions in here and was kinda shocked to see all the hate ITT. Really thought it was a classic and stuck the landing for the season completely
There comes a point with surrealism where it’s almost like a cop out. Like, hold on, I know this show plays fast and loose with reality, but that doesn’t mean you can just do anything and have us buy what’s happening.
I agree 100%. Like at least episodes like Teddy still somehow connects. This one I just couldn’t grasp wtf was happening and why it was happening and most importantly HOW. Like how does she all sudden have all these things in her life, when we last saw her none these things were prevalent

yup
Fans may have expected the finale to focus on Earn, Al and Darius, and Robinson admits she didn’t know this episode would be the season finale while writing it. But it “brings some sort of finality” and “answers these questions that we’ve been having all season,” she believes. “Van is going through what we’re exploring this season, with the idea of being away from home and stepping outside of your comfort zone… This season, we were interrogating: What does it mean to be Black? What does it mean to be American traveling abroad? What does it mean to be a white person in America” during the current racial reckoning? “So I think there is something nice and final about the Van of it all. It’s finally being able to say, ‘I don’t know who I am.’ And: ‘Is that OK?’… In that way, I feel like it sums up the season quite well, I think.”
Seems like they see the final episode as a synopsis of the entire season metaphorically while tying loose ends and addressing the elephant in the room, which has been Van’s character arc.
I just don’t get how Van all sudden is selling and serving ppl hands to eat and f***in Alex accomplishes that
I feel like they missed the chance to bring back Vans friend from S1

true but the girl in the finale isn't completely new either she was in the "drake" episode

Ok that’s the episode she’s from! I knew I seen her before
Nobody gonna talk about the post credit scene?
White Earn from The Big Payback + the intro in the rowboat is the man pictured with his family.
Thoughts?
I know and I made a comment ITT during that episode asking if they're the same person or if we're gonna witness Earn turn white
wym earn turn white?

Teddy Perkins is Earn in the future but seen in the present a la a spacecake timeloop that Darius is experiencing within his internal simulation
best episode of the season is big payback imo
idk which one that is but if ur talking abt the Kevin Samuels one I agreee
ok very end was cool idk wassup w that picture 100% but i think i know whats going on and i like it
that being said van can suck a d*** she sucks
whats your theory
Cmon man they really expect us to believe Van had no idea what she was doing?
More like when candice brought up Lottie she had no choice but to take accountability for being a s***ty person. Like when she stole the wig or was pushing people in the pool.
Van went from being one of the more grounded and relatable characters to just a weirdo hedonistic psycho
Also wtf was up with that photo at the end
thats what mental illness'll do to ya

1. bookend to the season
2. ties in the standalone episodes to the greater narrative of Atlanta that we know
3. we deal with white ppls s*** even when we don’t ask for it/know that it’s not ours to deal with
