So, nobody's going to mention how the scene from Earn and Van going through the dark emergency exit, and coming out on the other side didn't signify a (re)birth of some kind? (I mean, notice their dialogue about the walls, the sounds, and seeing a light at the end. It's beautiful)
Especially, it being the first ep after a very surreal season 3. It comes off to me as a rebirth of the show in a way even, leaving the surreal s*** of the whole Atlantic City garage thing behind them.
And then, it also coinciding with Al's eerie scavenger hunt which ultimately lead him to nothing else but the simple truth. That in spite of the hope and illusion that the scavenger hunt created, the truth is simple, and Blue Blood's dead. The journey/hunt itself was great and exciting, but at the end he had to make peace with the truth tho.
Beautiful observation with Earn and Van
The whole time I was just wondering why they didn’t turn their phone flashlights on lmao

I thought it was just a reference to the backrooms lol
damn that's kinda deep
Isnt his therapist the nigga who he worked with in season 1 or am i tripping? Where do i know him from
S4E2 is the first episode where I fully understand Donald’s comparison to The Sopranos
I love the fact that ATL goes out of its way to be whatever it wants to be with any given episode. But damn, the alternate version of this show where it’s a character study with Earn as our Tony Soprano figure seems so much better

nah it’s not him. that was a different dude, he comes back this season according to the trailer
I have an answer to your question but idk how to spoiler lol
Just use two upper slashes before and after your spoiler || <-
This dude Darius dont give a f*** about anything
Nah that wheelchair woman had him shook to the core for the first time since teddy
I thought this was mentioned before but now I'm thinking it was the Community episode
What was the context of the community episode cause this could just be a wink and a nudge to that show lol
after the princeton story, a lot of things make sense in retrospect now. whenever something has been taken from him (the jacket in S1E10 and the laptop in S2E9), he always tracks it down almost obsessively, even pulling the fire alarm to get his laptop back

DUDE I THOUGHT THE SAME THING
but that actor is locked up from what a remember and like 3 shades darker lol

And then the whole thing with him not liking Tracy plus the whole plan with the cellphone and dogs with Darius
I dont want to see a single person say Donald isn't a great actor after this
Between Teddy Perkins and Homeliest Little Horse, Donald has given us 2 incredible displays of acting
I’m wondering if this is something that really happened to Donald glover. It was also mentioned in a episode of community. Has he been trying to tell us something this whole time.
IIRC, he alluded to it in Clapping For The Wrong reasons, though I'm not sure if it was "the Boy" or actually him.
I'm also fairly certain he did mention something along those lines before but I'm not sure where.

Every episode of Atlanta has always had deeper layers like this. I thoroughly enjoyed S3 cause of it.

Glovers character needed a tragic backstory for his acting class so he lied about his uncle molesting him

Damn Kendrick was just talking about this kind of stuff on his album too
Nah I disagree. I can’t tell if this is a flaw of the episode or actually genius writing, but the characters were gaslighting the f*** out of Earn here
Idk maybe I’m too much like him and still need to heal from my past baggage lol, but I don’t think he was wrong at all. Earn has been repeatedly s***ted on. We saw it multiple times throughout the first three seasons and now we see it’s been a recurring thing throughout his entire life. So his striking back in this episode didn’t feel petty but more like him finally prioritizing himself and using the resources he has at his disposal to take a stand, something few black men in the world get to do.
I feel like Al, Darius and Earn’s therapist did the exact same thing to him here that those white people at Princeton did. They cut his motivations down to sheer spite and completely disregarded his pain.
Earn was screwed over by Sasha in college. And when he took a stand by using his RA privileges to get his suit back, he was punished and made to be the villain without anyone considering his point of view. And it’s the same thing with this airport incident.
By going back to Princeton and taking his family on a vacation, Earn was genuinely trying to take his therapist’s advice and heal from his past. But once again, he was s***ted on by a white lady who damn near ruined the experience. And when Earn decides to take a stand by using his $$ and paying other black folks to give her a dose of what she inflicted on countless other black people, he is once again made out to be the villain without anyone considering his point at view.
Racist white woman tears >>> Earn’s pain as a black man
I’m also
@ Van crying at the airport and making the situation about her instead of backing Earn up when he is being discriminated against. typical Van 😂
My guy Earn should probably go back to therapy but I can understand why he is the way he is and he’s certainly not the bad guy here. F*** that white b****
#EarnHive
Damn, even though I think he was still f***ed up for that, I respect your point of view, thank you for the input

Yeah I noticed The Sopranos thing, too. But nah, Earn = Tony and the shows aren't even in the same tier lol. You don't just have the character development of Tony Soprano because you go to therapy and make morally questionable decisions.
blue blood suppose to be MF DOOM
dead for 3 months and manager just announced death and clues on social media for demos and songs
only real niggas know :laughing
Was there really music scavenger stuff after he died?

Absolutely but I do appreciate how many things Atlanta is willing to reference
