i didn’t say it ruined the ep but yeah it was cringe. it reinforced the bitter black women stereotype. most black women do not care enough about a man’s preference to stalk them at a party like that. her character was created literally for that one purpose. i feel like Donald let his own insecurities get the best of him there. i still like the ep but it is what it is
i hear what ur saying
She also wrote Terrare and Champaigne Papi (two of the worst episodes of the show), but yeah, this ended up being one of the great ones.
Champagne papi a classic episode
I like terrare for what it was but I understand the hate. It absolutely shouldn’t have been the finale
If season 4 keeps up this level of quality (which im sure it will) , this show will comfortably be top 3 shows ever for me.
Maybe top 2 if it really sticks the landing
I really wonder how they’re gonna was this in a satisfying way
I just need a bibby episode and this the best season ever
s\*\*\* it might still be regardless
im confused on what the dads whole thing was about
I think to showcase how he wasn't with his wife's family drama/instead of going to church, finding something simple as walking around the mall before the kids get there is how he finds peace, only to be solicited too regardless.
S3 hate is crazy to me. I really enjoyed it, it has some of my favorite episodes of the entire series. People will eventually come around
I'm with you
They gon learn.
Not sure if this is sarcastic or not, but I should've explained that I meant this could be the family member who molested Earn. I thought Al not going meant maybe he knew something, but he was on house arrest so he couldn't go anyway
I agree with you about them probably never bringing it up again. I feel like people are going to hate on the show for just throwing that out there but f*** it, not everything needs a resolution and Atlanta is definitely that kind of show
Coming to terms with it during the therapy session WAS the resolution. Anyone that's still stuck on that line during the session, is looking at that scene, and maybe at the whole show the wrong way.
Same s*** with the conspiracy theories about Al's masters, my nigga, that's not a plotline that's going to come back around later, at all.
Actually watch the show, rather than make another one up in your head.
(Aside from the first paragraph, the rest is not a shot at you specifically)

Initially I was going to say that it was a resolution for Earn and not the viewers, but I wouldn't even go that far. The therapist drew parallels between those situations to illustrate how those events brought up similar feelings of feeling powerless in Earn. But the therapist didn't know that Earn did all that to get back at Lisa, so Earn hasn't healed as much as the therapist and even Earn himself may think
And I wouldn't say anything for sure about Atlanta. We're talking about a show where the money Darius was supposed to get Earn for that dog randomly popped up a season later. Socks joined the group somehow, appeared again in another episode and then just vanished from the show with no explanation. Clark County might be dead and the only indication of that throughout the show may end up being an easter egg in an episode's title card. You never know with Atlanta
I was the one who mentioned the masters a few weeks back, I just got a weird vibe from the way Earn answered the question. And I think it may pop up again, that's why Earn told Al he doesn't want to end up arguing all the time like their aunties and uncle do. It's all just discussing and theorizing tho, I'm not going to hold it against the show and be like "Ahh, wtf they should've brought that storyline up again
" if they don't

I agree you never know what to expect with Atlanta.
I personally wouldn’t mind if they don’t “resolve” the whole Earn being molested thing, Atlanta kinda mimics life in a way where not everything gets tied up in a nice bow, some things forever stay in the dark and that’s ok.
I don’t need Movies/shows to always give me the flat out answers to everything, I prefer it more when they leave clues and breadcrumbs and leave it to the audience to answer the question.
As far as the masters thing, I could see this season discussing it again, it’s not far fetched to believe that, this is a very unpredictable show and anything can be a ‘plot line’ and appear later.
Earns father getting heckled in public was heartbreaking, and he probably couldn’t do anything when being surrounded by people he seemed anxious and stressed when he saw everyone out.
The mall felt so peaceful to him and was open to treating himself to something new and was being sold to, but he felt seen. This show reminds me of how we look at our parents and seniors and how we treat them & vice versa -
Like earns father said to him he been around the family for 30 years and so earn should deal with them for one day. Earn hasn’t spent much time being around his family like that he doesn’t really know what to do, luckily he was heading to see his cousin. Earn was thinking of himself most of the time during that car ride. He’s like most of us when we go to our family events.
We hear earns father saying kids have no respect, he was able to be heard in that moment as he is the father. Whereas in the mall he was just another older person at the mall, he was vulnerable. But when we are in front of family we can be louder and our anger comes out from times we held it in front of others.
Just some immediate thoughts I had
Do you guys think that kid would've gotten violent if Earn's dad just walked away while he was begging? I legit can't tell if that was a threat or the kid was sincerely begging

He was just being a punk and tryna clown
Need someone to post a gif of that church scene with the people dancing in white face
