It’s a slim chance they don’t do it, but I hope we don’t get a white man samurai.

they will...i mean the source material was written by a white dude in the 70s + the characters are based on real people
Yeah this was fire. If you’re hoping this doesn’t fall into the white savior trope, I got bad news for you. But that’s what the source material was written as.
I saw the first two episodes and they were really good. The majority of the dialogue was in Japanese and that brought a real authenticity to the show. It’s pretty well written and there’s more levity in this than I expected. There’s some grand scale to this show which makes me glad to i’ve seen it in the theater. I really like the cast all around and Hiroyuki Sanada is, of course, a stand out alongside Anna Sawai. I’m really digging this show so far and I’m excited to continue watching it as weeks go by.

Finna watch and pretend it's ghosts of Tsushima
Finna play Ghosts of Tsushima and pretend I’m watching Shogun
TOMORROW.
The book is long. I won't be able to finish it by tomorrow but it's really good so far.
The reviews have been glowing so far. In asf.
Currently watching episode 1. The sets are breathtaking, the production value looks HBO level, and the cinematography is the best we’ve seen from an FX show. Also the acting is top notch
FX finally has a show that has a Game of Thrones level of scale
