I think he means that it's good if rappers who have spent a long time perfecting their music blow up, even if it's at a later age. Part of why Griselda works is because they're grown, if WSG was making that kind of music and was 21 with purple hair no one would take it seriously

Hm, id say he’s marketed as a mainstream heavyweight + he himself seems to imply he’s a high concept artist which invites hypercriticism, future post ds2 is very straightforward, still moves like a street rapper in many ways, albums formatted like playlists etc, what’s there to dissect

They have much more personality in their music. Travis doesn’t really have anything personal in his music or come across as a character outside of regular rich rapper, while Sahbabii & Carti have very large personalities that often make people consider them weirdos. Their character and aesthetic set them apart from the crowd so I’d consider them more interesting
