If 3.15.20 came out with a proper rollout, it'd have been the most gassed album of 2020. All that Donald Glover talk from 2018 woulda came back even harder, mfs would be startin threads here every two weeks about how Donald possibly one of the greatest living. Album had the perfect sound for radio too, catchy and likeable enough to play, and progressive/idiosyncratic enough to garner a strong reaction from folks. It'd be the 2 weeks after "This Is America" except for the whole year.

Instead Donald gave us nothiing but what we expected from him: the music. No titles, no singles, no videos, just what we were all clamoring for - the music. And s*** got lukewarm as hell. This s*** is on par if not above par for anything you'd expect from Donald at this point, and it got none of the hype at all. No grammy talk. Positive reviews, nothing crazy. And the only accolade this album got was being one of variety's (non-numbered) best albums of the MID-YEAR

Nigga saw all the hype for his next album and saw it all dissipate, ironically when he gave us the music we were asking for. Really shows you how important the music is

No, in 2020 people don’t listen to albums all the way through anymore except for first listen. That’s the reality. When the songs didn’t have titles it makes it hard to know which is which. This hurts replay value.

That’s what happened here. It was Gambino thinking he is more important that he actually is. It’s a shame because the album is great.
