The biggest downfall of open world games IMO is having boring traversal. The boring repetitive quest designs of games like AC, Horizon, GoT would be minimized if it wasn’t so boring just riding a horse from A to B. Even GTA and RDR2 despite having unique missions, still suffer from this at times (GTA less so just because it’s fun driving avoiding traffic)
I’m surprised developers haven’t focused yet on finding a way to make traversal more appealing. Not sure what they could do within the scope of their settings though, dunno how you could make riding horse through an empty landscape more fun.
Titanfall 2 goated, grapple >>>
Ace combat is literally piloting jets if that counts, wish there were more ways to feel your speed tho
Deathloop/Dishonored have pretty fun movement with the teleport ability
Blood hunt has great movement
Gunz the Duel might have my favorite movement OAT but the skill ceiling is crazy high
Forspoken will be one
Never did get an xbox to play this. I remember thinking how awesome this looked. To this day I still wanna try it out. It never did drop on playstation like a lot of ppl were thinking
yea I ended up finally playing it on PC this year actually.
Bro got a nude of the Danny Phantom girl as his avy
that’s gwen from total drama island lmao

I’m not so sure. It looks cool but that doesn’t mean it’s fun to traverse.
Spider-Man is a decent example of this because swinging is pretty fun and looks super cool, but actually doesn’t take much skill or attention so eventually the novelty wears off IMO.
I think a game with fun traversal is one that makes the movement engaging and fun to do. Titanfall is GOATed IMO because it requires your attention, skill and practice to be good at it, the movement itself could be its own game.

Well that's a bit different because Titanfall 2 is competitive game so the movement adds to the skill gap. Single Player games are designed to be pickup and play, what do you think are examples of a single player only game with engaging movement that takes skill? I can only think of something like Mario.

I enjoy mindlessly swinging around but I hope in the second game they make swinging more engaging with a skill curve + physics based
Like it’s fun to move around in the game
Dishonored, Corvo/Daud movements are so fluid and they make 5m jumps/traslations look effortless
I just remembered, Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Most superhero games in general tbh
Crackdown 2 was pretty fun to move in
Bro got a nude of the Danny Phantom girl as his avy
Nigga has a link to his p*** content on his profile, I don't think the avy is that bad
Controlling 2B in Nier Automata is such a joy. Whenever you get to a desert area and slide around in the sand >>>
Journey
@Banana_Clip @MyNight @HALLEBERRY would you guys say Titanfall 2 is worth buying for the single player only? I don't have PS Plus and I'm considering copping because it's cheap

Absolutely, especially since it often goes on sale for $3-5
Nobody mentioning Just Cause games?
Literally Iron Man & Spider-Man type flying & movement in that
Sunset Overdrive was pretty fun to go around in. Pretty much was a base for Spider-Man.
Spidey, Sunset Overdrive, Deathloop, Dishonored, Mirrors Edge, and Dying Light
New Ratchet and Clank maybe even lowkey
RDR 2 definitely doesn’t have fun traversal, I’ll say that.
Went to play it the other day and it was annoying as f*** how stiff the movement was

Even in the non competitive modes of titanfall 2, like the defense game mode I forget it’s name, it’s fun just zipping around but I get what you’re saying in terms of it being multiplayer/competitive
Ghostrunner is single player and is all about the movement but tbf it’s basically the same system as titanfall 2 lol so I’m biased.
oh s*** you unlocking a memory with GunZ the Duel
Legendary
Prime 07-11 gaming giving my fingers arthritis

Oh yeah you were getting washed then
I could do all that, the movement was unmatched bouncing and wallrunning off walls and s***. Maps were dope too especially custom maps on private servers
